Powers lives in South Dakota.Chuck Hays has spent the past twenty years as a journalist and writer. He is currently finishing a PhD at the University of Iowa, where he also teaches newspaper and magazine writing. He divides his time between Iowa and South Dakota. His 1989 Harley-Davidson Sportster has been ridden into the ground and rebuilt several times, but he still refuses to buy a larger bike.
