A cheeky and subversive twist on the traditional cumulative tale, in a picture book full of humour in both its text and illustrations. The bear's hat is gone and he wants it back. Patiently and politely, he asks the animals one by one, if they have seen it. Each one says no, some more elaborately than others, until the deer asks a rather obvious question that sparks the bear's memory.
