My First Bicycle Book | Susan Akass

All the basics are covered, from choosing which kind of bicycle is right for you to all the equipment and clothes you’ll need to be comfortable and stay safe. You’ll learn about looking after your bicycle – step-by-step instructions will guide you through pumping up tyres, mending a puncture, washing your bicycle and more. Then, why not try some of the great science activities that will help you to understand your bike? Bottle tops and elastic bands can show you how gears work, while a sponge around a rolling pin can explain suspension. Discover games to play with your friends, too – from an obstacle course to slow bike races that will test your braking skills. There are also ideas for fun ways to decorate your bicycle – use the sheet of stickers that come with this book or learn how to decorate your bike basket and make your own handlebar streamers and wheel rattles.
