Narragansett - A Champlin Family History - Frank Bevc
Eighteen-year-old Jeffrey Champlin worked as a sailor to earn his passage to the Massachusetts Bay Colony, arriving in the 1630s. He played a key role in uniting Rhode Island's independent towns into a colony. Jeffrey married and his three sons were among the first to settle its western frontier, increasing the family's influence and wealth. Almost 150 years later, over one-hundred Champlin family members served during America's Revolutionary War.
